I’m Kathryn, and I’d love to paint your wedding or other event!

As a live event painter, my goal is to portray the energy of a given scene while engaging with an audience. I start painting onsite and my goal is always to finish before I leave, although some pieces require additional studio time. My style is a blend of impressionism and realism, with bright colors and deep contrasts, inviting viewers to engage with the emotional depth beneath the surface. I grew up in Chicago and would say my primary influences are the live music and fine arts scenes here. With that foundation, I draw inspiration from weddings, concerts, celebrations, natural landscapes, and urban environments. My hope is that after viewing my work, people will learn to see the beauty in wherever they are, and give their full attention to the present moment. In addition to live painting, I also paint en plein air (capturing nature scenes with paintings started and finished onsite) and in my studio. My art has been exhibited in galleries and festivals throughout Illinois and is included in several private and public collections around the globe, from Austria to Australia.
